Difficulty: Easy Instructions things you'll need: * CD Player/Computer * Creativity * Library * Patience and Tenacity 1. * 1 Thoroughly research the musical using the internet, your local library, and see the show if possible. Search videos online to see clips of the musical. Read the synopsis at the library and get a copy of it if possible. While doing the research, try to see what role fits you best. Ask yourself if you sound or look like one of the characters in the show. After you identify what role fits you best, you are well on your way to landing the role at the audition. * 2 Try to find a song that is NOT from the musical. This will be your audition song. In general, people casting a show do not want to hear music from the show they are casting unless they specifically to hear you sing music from the show. The song you select should feel and sound a lot like the role for which you are auditioning. Remember, those casting the show should be able to SEE and HEAR you in the role you want! * 3 Dress the part. If you're auditioning for the role of a business person, it is advisable to dress like a businessperson. Wear colors that compliment the attitude and feel of the role you want. Research how different colors affect moods. For instance, green has a soothing affect that is subconsciously translated as "life and growth." Red can mean "power" or "caution" or even "stop!"
